Why it is here: NDSU: the PhD follows the same blended in-person/online structure.
Nutrition science at NDSU runs through the Health, Nutrition and Exercise Sciences department, and the department splits it into two tracks. One is an accelerated BS/MS coordinated program in nutrition science and dietetics aimed at the RDN credential. The other is a four year BS that NDSU itself calls non-accredited, positioned as a feeder into physician assistant study, athletic training, an accelerated BSN or the certified dietary manager route.

Auburn's Department of Nutritional Sciences builds the PhD on at least 60 semester hours past the bachelor's, a general doctoral examination with written and oral halves, and a dissertation of original research. The required core repeats the master's list, minerals, vitamins, macronutrient metabolism and human nutrient metabolism, then adds lab methods plus two courses in design and statistics. Arrive short on chemistry or anatomy and physiology and you clear the deficiency first.

Kansas puts its PhD in medical nutrition science inside the Department of Dietetics and Nutrition on the medical center campus.
