The subfield here is dietitian assistant, not dietitian, and that distinction runs through the degree. Purdue Global's online nutrition bachelor's covers metabolism, dietary assessment, counseling and medical nutrition therapy across 33 courses, with an optional holistic nutrition concentration. The school points graduates toward certifications like Certified Dietary Manager and ServSafe Food Manager rather than toward the registration exam for dietitians.

This one is narrow by design. Arizona State built the applied nutrition and health BAS for you if you already hold an Associate of Applied Science and want to finish a bachelor's online, transferring sixty credits or more in. Coursework leans toward management, purchasing, food service and communication rather than heavy science, and ASU says outright that the degree does not lead to the RDN credential or a DPD verification.

Arkansas State publishes exactly what it takes to get in rather than leaving you to guess: a 3.0 high school GPA, or a 19 on the ACT, or a place in the top fifth of your class, with an appeal route if you miss all three. Transfer students need a 2.0 and can bring up to 90 credits across. Eighty-two percent of applicants are admitted, and the degree is delivered fully online.

Dietetics is the narrow track inside a broad nutrition department. UNF lists community health, foodservice management, public health and sports nutrition among the places graduates land, but the bachelor's counted here is the didactic dietetics degree, taught on campus or fully online at the upper level. Either way it's 120 credits, 60 in the major, 40 upper division, and a 2.75 GPA minimum in major coursework.

Lab work sets the limit at Bowling Green. The nutrition sciences degree is research first, built on biochemistry, physiology, microbiology and food science, and BGSU says hands-on time with laboratory instrumentation is central to it, which isn't something you do from a laptop. The 15-credit graduate certificate in food and nutrition is the piece the university describes as fully online.

If you plan to practice in Alaska, the coursework here reflects that. The catalog lists Food and Nutrition in Modern Alaska next to culinary medicine, sports nutrition, weight management and two medical nutrition therapy courses, with 95 of the 120 credits inside the major. Earn a C or better in every required dietetics course and the university says you can pick up the verification statement that opens the NDTR exam.
